AmphiStar 6 Mโ‚ฌ Pre-Series A

Weโ€™re proud to announce that AmphiStar has secured โ‚ฌ6ย million in funding from European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF), Qbic III, andย Flanders Future Tech Fund (FFTF) to launch eco-friendly and cost-effectiveย biosurfactants derived from waste.

This investment will accelerate AmphiStar’sย industrialization efforts and team expansion, with Pierre-Franck Valentinย stepping in as CEO to lead the charge. AmphiStar’s innovative platform combinesย various technologies to produce waste-based biosurfactants, aiming to
revolutionize sustainability in everyday products.

We are incredibly grateful to SPRIND – Bundesagentur fรผr Sprunginnovationen and to the renowned jury for the trust and belief in our technology and in our team. Exciting times ahead on making biosurfactants mainstream!

This is the future of sustainable manufacturing! I am thrilled to announce the 8 winning teams to join stage 1 of SPRIND Challenge “Circular Biomanufacturing”. Each team receives up to โ‚ฌ1.5M for the next year and has a chance to unlock increasing follow-on funding in stages 2 and 3. Congratulations to these amazing 8 teams ๐Ÿ‘‡

The AmphiStar (SURFACycle) focuses on the production of various biosurfactants from food waste, such as supermarket- and industrial waste, waste cooking oil, etc. Congratulations, sophie roelants and team!

AmphiStar was very honoured to join prominent bioeconomy veterans on stage to talk about the challenges startups face in this sector and to offer some recommendations.
Our CEO Sophie Roelants urged the members of the EC in the audience to prioritize policy changes promoting bio versus fossil. Indeed, policies revolutionize entire sectors and…change the world!
